Buffy has a new home. No, she's not moving out of Sunnyvale, just down the dial to a new network, UPN. Yep. Believe it or not, after several months of intense negotiations, the WB has relinquished Joss Whedon's fan fave Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
UPN (united paramount network) signed a $102 million deal for 44 new eps. They'll begin airing in the Fall. (The season finale will air on the WB on May 22nd.)
It will be interesting to see how newly-engaged Sarah Michelle Gellar reacts to the news. She's gone on record as saying that she considers the WB her home and that she wouldn't make the move. Stay tuned.

Mandy Moore Biography
Teen singer Mandy Moore hails from Orlando, FL., home of fellow pop icons 'N Sync and The Backstreet Boys. Her interest in singing and acting awoke after she attended a musical theatre camp at age 9. Soon she had a lot of practical experience - numerous appearances singing "The Star Spangled Banner" at local sporting events earned her the nickname "The National Anthem Girl", and she became an old hand in the recording studio at an early age through commercial and voiceover work. At age 15 she was signed to Sony's 550 Music imprint, who released her debut album, So Real, in 1999. The follow-up, I Wanna Be With You, is slated for release in May 2000.
